is graduating and we we able to steal an hour or two out of her busy finals schedule to grab a few photos. She was my former boss and now I’m glad to call her my current friend. I’m just one of a long list of people who are proud and excited for her.
My friend Kenny just exhibited his excellent series “Ballantine,” inspired by Franz Kline and the phenomenon of outdoor light on highway architecture. To me, the nature of the paintings seemed to shift as I moved in relation to them, going from hazy and smooth to abstract fragmentations with visceral texture. Kenny paints in a range of styles, writes and performs his own music, and plans to keep producing various art-makings, so stay tuned.
Menswear is often much more than just clothes to those participating in its fascinating ebb and flow. When my friend Thandazo asked me to do this shoot, I came away with more than just “fashion pictures,” receiving a primer on the menswear and style universe that I’m quite removed from. He shared his perspective on blog culture, style philosophy, and vulnerability, and if you want to hear it firsthand, check out his blog here.

My friends Josh and Rachel got engaged and we decided to do this to educate the public about their impending marriage.
This is just the base photo, but I’ll post the final versions closer to the wedding day. True movie stars are all around us.

I had the pleasure of documenting my friend Chelsea Alling’s thesis gallery exhibition, The Nature of People & Things this past winter. She drew these images of her family and friends without looking down at the page, keeping her eyes on the subject. The opening felt like a party: a celebration of the relationships that were a primary source of the show’s inspiration.
